Tips:

  • Import <300 images at a time
  • once the project is completed, share it as a file (520p)
  • After you are sure that you have a usable mp4 file, delete the project from iMovie and then delete the associated event…..
  • DO NOT DELETE THE IMAGES DIRECTLY FROM YOUR HARD DRIVE UNTIL THE PROJECT AND ITS ASSOCIATED IMAGES HAVE BEEN REMOVED
  • Use handbrake to compress the file for the web (see https://www.hardware.woodenboxes.net/2018/06/20/handbrake-to-compress-video/ )

Delete clips and events

You can delete unwanted clips from an event, and you can delete an entire event to free up storage space.

Note: To free up storage space, you must delete an entire event. Deleting clips from an event does not free up storage space.

  1. In the Libraries list, do one of the following:
    • Delete an event: Select the event you want to delete.
    • Delete clips in an event: Select the event that contains the clips you want to delete, and then select the clips you want to delete in the browser.
Tip: To select multiple clips in the same library, hold down the Command key as you click the clips you want to select, or drag a selection rectangle around the clips.
  2. Choose File > Move to Trash. If a clip you’re trying to delete is being used in a project, a message appears asking you to remove the clip from the project before deleting the clip.Note: Selecting a clip and pressing Delete marks it as rejected. For more information, see Mark clips as favorite or rejected.
